Session One: "Cooking Club Goes Global"
Cooking Club Goes Global in January. Join Cooking Club as we celebrate cuisine and cultures from around the world. Each week we will "visit" a different country and prepare a recipe popular in that country. Classes will focus on preparing simple and delicious meals, trying new things, and having fun! We will meet Wednesdays, immediately after school until 4:50pm in the Art Room at Paddock Elementary.
Session Two: "Fun Recipes for Winter Days"
Cooking Club takes the chill out of winter with warming recipes like a hot and hearty breakfast, warming soup, gourmet cupcake decorating, and delicious muffins. Then the kids take over! Our chefs will have the opportunity to plan their own menu that we will create and enjoy together at our last meeting of the session.

Kickstart Karate

This introductory martial arts program offers traditional martial arts training to children ages 5 through 12 and emphasizes self-defense, physical fitness, conflict resolution, teamwork, and anti-kidnapping techniques. This program is designed specifically for children and teaches children to respect themselves and others with the skills they learn. The program has a very positive impact on children. Each session is four Friday evening classes. Class is held in Saline.

Iron Chef Cooking Session

This very special cooking session will focus on cooking skills and techniques. Students will create delicious recipes while focusing on learning skills that can be used for a lifetime. The last class of this session will be our beloved Iron Chef Competition! It's time for these hard-working chefs to show off their new skills! Working in teams, our young chefs will be given a secret ingredient. They will be responsible for creating a recipe, providing extra ingredients, and working together to create a dish for our panel of "celebrity" judges. The competition will be held on May 10th.
WHEN: Wednesdays April 12th - May 10th from 3:50pm-5:00pm

Pottery Class

Join us for a fun, hands-on workshop and make a unique, personalized ceramic dish. All bowls will be food-safe, microwave-safe, dishwasher-safe, and can be enjoyed for years! Students will be able to choose their own glaze color(s). For ages 5 and up! Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or other adult. Provided by One Acre Ceramics. There is a minimum enrollment of 10 students and a maximum of 20.
Bowls will be glazed and fired at One Acre Studio and will be returned to Milan Middle School for pickup 2-3 weeks after the session.

COST: $17/person per Saturday (accompanying adult does not pay extra unless they plan to make their own pottery piece)

Betts' Army Wrestling Club

This club offers folk-style, free-style and Greco-Roman wrestling instruction and techniques to students in K through 12th grade. Exercise and training is designed to promote physical fitness while teaching wrestling skills and increasing personal self-esteem and confidence. Please bring clean tennis shoes or wrestling shoes and head gear if you have
them. Instruction is provided by Wrestling Coach Mike Betts, who brings over 45 years of experience to the club.Eight classes are included in a session.
WHEN:

- Session Two (two days a week): April 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25, 27

Twirling Workshop

Come learn the wonderful sport of baton twirling! New and experienced twirlers are welcome. New twirlers will learn basic twirling skills and techniques, marching, bodywork, strutting skills, and a dance twirl routine. Experienced twirlers will learn new tricks as well as improve their individual routines. Learn with an expert professional staff led by head coach Susan Usher. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing, tennis shoes, and bring a baton if you have one! There are two sessions available. For ages K and up!

- Session One: Sunday April 23rd from 1:00-3:30pm
- Session Two: Sunday May 7th from 1:00-3:30pm
