Krav Maga is a modern self-defense system designed to address and defend against present day street assaults and confrontations. Krav Maga is integrated into the Chuck Norris System and is taught as a separate ranking system. It is geared for teens and adults.

Pottery Class

Join us for a fun, hands-on workshop and make a unique, personalized ceramic dish. All bowls will be food-safe, microwave-safe, dishwasher-safe, and can be enjoyed for years! Students will be able to choose their own glaze color(s). For ages 5 and up! Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or other adult. Provided by One Acre Ceramics. There is a minimum enrollment of 10 students and a maximum of 20.
Bowls will be glazed and fired at One Acre Studio and will be returned to Milan Middle School for pickup 2-3 weeks after the session.

Life Choices Workshop

Life choices will be offering the following workshop -- Empowering your journey as a solo ager: Securing independence, peace of mind, and fulfillment for the years ahead. This multi-session will deep dive into the topics introduced in "How to Thrive while Aging Solo." In this enlightening guide, you'll learn proactive strategies to age confidently solo. Whether by choice or circumstances, solo agers find themselves planning their futures independently without the support of a partner, spouse, or family. Take charge by developing a comprehensive plan that ensures independence, freedom of choice, and personal satisfaction. Topics include practical tips on aging, aging in place modifications, crafting essential medical directives, establishing robust social networks, and assembling a care team before any crisis arises. By planning ahead now, you can confidently embrace the future and embrace the joys of living life to the fullest! You can attend one monthly workshop or all five.
INSTRUCTOR: Nicole Boyer, MS CDP, Nicole has been passionately dedicated to the field of gerontology since 2010 with a strong focus on geriatric care management and dementia care. Over the years, she has accumulated extensive experience through various roles in hospice, skilled nursing, inpatient rehab, homecare, memory care, senior living, adult foster care, and non-profit continuing care retirement communities.

Boating Safety Class

This is a Michigan Safe Boating Course offered by the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department. This course of designed to teach both beginning and experienced boaters the "Rules of the Road". This course will provide attendees an opportunity to obtain a Michigan Boaters Safety Certificate.
Did you know? Persons less than 12 years can only operate a boat of more than 6hp but no more than 35 hp legally if they have been issued a boating certificate and are supervised on board by a person at least 16 years of age. Those born on or after July 1, 1996 may operate a boat only if they have been issued a boating safety certificate. Those born before July 1, 1996 may operate a boat legally without restrictions. Personal watercraft can be driven by 14 and 15 year olds only if they obtained a boating safety certificate and are accompanied on board by their parent or legal guardian. Those at least 16 years of age and born after December 31, 1978 may operate a PWC legally only if they have obtained a boating safety certificate.
