The Sea Otter classroom is full of learning, fun, and school readiness.  Our class uses Creative Curriculum, follows a predictable educational Daily Routine, has positive adult-child interactions, as well as a learning environment designed for student success. Teachers also incorporate Everyday Math Curriculum and literacy activities into their weekly lesson planning. Learning focuses on five different areas of development; Social, Emotional, Physical, Cognitive, and Language and are designed to meet the needs of many learning styles.  Every day the children work in both large groups and small groups and go outside to extend their knowledge. At school, children also visit the nature center, have music class, and go to the library. If you have any questions about our classroom’s curriculum, please do not hesitate to ask a teacher. We are so happy to be working with you this year!

My name is Kelly Straub and I am looking forward to being one of your child's teachers this school year. I have been happily married to my husband Jeff for 19 years. We are the proud parents of a 12 year old son Zackary, who is entering 7th grade at Milan Middle School. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with our family and friends, being involved with my sons's sports teams, and volunteering around the town of Milan. This will be my 8th school year of teaching at PECC. I have worked in classrooms with all ages in our program. I also have experience teaching Safety Town for the City of Milan in the summer. I believe you can learn something new everyday and I look forward to learning new things daily along with your child. I am excited to see what our school year has in store. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to help your child grow and learn!
