• Social Studies is broken into three major topics:  economics, geography, and history.   The rubrics are below.

    Learning Target: Students will understand the elements of location, place, and region Student can describe location, place, and region. Student can determine the appropriate us of relative and absolute location Student can break down what the specific characteristics are for a region, place, or location Student can identify patterns of places from around the world to group into "regions"
    Learning Target: Students will understand the impact that humans and the environment have on each other Student can describe human and natural phenomenon that impact the environment. Students can look at a specific environmental factor and determin how it impacts human behavior. Student can analyze the impact humans have created on the environment in various situations. Student can look at different environmental impacts and determin what common themes exist between them.

Student can synthesize characteristics of multiple people from a historical era and time period identifying common characteristics and patterns

    Learning target:Students will understand the impact/import of key ideas and beliefs from history Student can describe new ideas and beliefs that emerged from historical eras and time periods Student can analyze how key ideas and beliefs from history have influenced society as a whole. Student can evaluate the lasting legacy created by key ideas and beliefs in specific historical eras and time periods. Student can recontruct how "new" ideas and beliefs impacted a specific historical era and time period through multiple lenses and perspectives.
