Mrs. Kimberly Jasper
A resident of Milan, I am ecstatic to have the privilege of serving the students in our community! Middle school students are my favorite people - I enjoy their wittiness, silliness, sarcasm, and, yes, challenges!
I have served as MMS building principal since 2021-2022, but I have been a part of the MMS community since 2009 and the MAS community since 2007. I began my teaching career at the Adult Education Program here in Milan, then transitioned to the middle school. Over the years, I taught Success for Tomorrow, Spanish 7/8, and English/Language Arts 7. In May 2019, I became the Assistant Principal and have served in administration since that time.
I earned my undergraduate degree and teaching credentials through Eastern Michigan University's Secondary Education program (Major: Language, Literature, and Writing; Minor: Spanish for Teaching), then pursued a Master of Arts in Teaching and Curriculum through Michigan State University. I went back to EMU as a post-graduate student and received my certificate for school administration. I am now working towards an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership through Northern Michigan University.
On a personal level, my husband, four daughters, and I live in Milan with our two dogs. Two of my daughters attend Milan High School and one is at Milan Middle School. My oldest daughter graduated from MHS in 2023 and is attending the University of Michigan. My husband was raised in Milan and attended Milan Area Schools; I was raised in Saline and attended schools in Ann Arbor and Saline. We love to bike or walk to Main Street for treats from Life is Sweet, dinner at Peppers, and coffee at The Owl. We are proud of the growth of this community over the last several years and are excited about what's yet to come!
Looking toward the upcoming school year, I am thankful to you for entrusting your students to Milan Middle School. I look forward to partnering with you:)
