  • WCC Scholarships

    WCC offers three scholarships specifically for Washtenaw County high school students: the President's Scholarship, the Procassini Scholarship, and the Excellence Scholarship. To learn more about and apply to these, please visit their financial aid page linked here. These digital applications are due by March 22.

    Monroe County Community College Scholarships

    Monroe County Community College Scholarship applications are due March 1. Some of the scholarships are only for students residing in Monroe County but the Trustee Merit Scholarship is for all students admitted to MCCC.     Milan High School Local Scholarship Opportunities

    Please submit completed applications to the MHS Counseling Department by the deadlines listed below.

    2025 Local Scholarship Application - Due February 6, 2025

    • American Legion Scholarship: This scholarship will be awarded to a student who is a relative of a veteran and who is planning to pursue an education in the areas of physical therapy, special education, nursing, or other related health occupations. The greatest criterion for the award is financial need.
    • Knights of Columbus: These scholarships are awarded to a graduate of Milan High School.
    • Milan Rotary Club Scholarship: This scholarship(s) will be awarded to student(s) enrolling in a full-time post-secondary program at any approved institution in the areas of business, vocational, or professional training. A minimum 2.5 GPA is required.

    2024 Edna B. Mead Scholarship Description and Application - Due February 6, 2025

    • The Edna B. Mead Scholarships are available to graduates of Milan High School who have attended class on campus for at least one year. Students who apply must be admitted to an accredited junior college, community college, or four-year college/university program leading to a four-year (or more) degree.

    2025 Brent Legault Memorial Scholarship Application - Due February 6, 2025

    • Brent Legault Scholarship applicants must be Milan High School students who plans to attend a trade school, 2 year program or 4 year institution. Preference for study in automotive, engineering, computer or health related fields, but not limited to these areas.

    Class of 2024 Scholarship Application - Due February 6, 2025

    • Gifted by the Class of 2024, this $1000 scholarship is for two Milan High School Class of 2024 graduates. The scholarship is for a student(s) for whom this gift would make a difference in their post-secondary education. No GPA requirement.

    2025 P.E.O. Scholarship Application - Due February 6, 2025

    • The PEO Scholarship is for a young woman graduating from Milan High School who has experienced obstacles, challenges and/or hardships in her life. However, she has the potential and commitment necessary to make a difference in her own life and the lives of others through continued education.

    Class of 1974 Scholarship Application - Due February 6, 2025

    • Gifted by the Class of 1974, this $500 scholarship is for a Milan High School Class of 2024 graduate. The scholarship is for a student for whom this gift would make a difference in their post-secondary education. No GPA requirement.

    2025 Muriel Gilbert Memorial Music Scholarship Application - Due April 17, 2025

    Community Foundation of Monroe County Scholarship Opportunities

    2024 CFMC Scholarship Descriptions and Online Application - All applications due February 21, 2024.

    The Community Foundation of Monroe County (CFMC) has automated the scholarship process for students. Via the online application, it is now a one-stop shop for students. The digital application makes students eligible for most of the 12 MHS scholarship funds handled by the CFMC. Paper copies are no longer needed as all components may be completed electronically. 

    Visit this website and follow the instructions to create an account. This allows access to the scholarship applications. Students may apply for these scholarships from December 1 to February 21, 2024.

    The Darling Memorial Endowed Scholarship 
    1 Award - For those pursuing an engineering, agriculture, science or medicine degree. 

    Caroline O’Donnell & Judy Heath Memorial Scholarship
    1 Award – For those pursuing a career in healthcare.

    Michael A. Tittiger Sustainability & Conservation Scholarship
    1 Award – For minority status seniors interested in environmental sustainability and/or conservation.

    Milan Adult Education Scholarship
    1 Award – For tuition and textbook assistance within the Milan Adult Education program. 

    Evelyn Gerstenberg (Hitchingham) Scholarship
    1 Award – For those pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree. Must submit a copy of financial statement each year to claim. 

    Ronnie and Paulette Shores Scholarship Fund
    1 Award – For those with a physical disability.

    Ethel Richards Scholarship
    3 Awards – For those pursuing a Business degree.

    Milan Area School Board Scholarship
    4 Awards – For those pursuing college or a vocational program.

    Duane & Isabelle Schultz – Milan Area Schools Alumni Scholarship
    2 Awards – For those pursuing college or a vocational program.

    Ethan C. Jones Memorial Scholarship
    1 Award – For those pursuing college or a vocational program. May apply for renewal each year. 

    David Glenn Memorial Scholarship
    2 Awards – For those pursuing a degree in education.

    Eric Harrison Memorial Scholarship
    1 Award – For varsity sports athletes pursuing a college or business school degree.

    Linda Grasselli Sprankle Scholarship: African American, Latino/Hispanic, or first generation in the family to attend college or university; Resident of Washtenaw County; Will be or are a high school graduate; Minimum 3.2 GPA; Financial need. 

    James K. Stringwell Scholarship: Graduating senior of a public high school in Washtenaw County; Planning to enroll in a Michigan public university or college; Minimum 2.5 GPA; Financial Need; Participation in either athletics or artistic extracurricular activities; Demonstrated emotional intelligence and an entrepreneurial spirit

    Gamma Rho Boule Scholarship: Male; African American; Graduating from a public or private high school in Washtenaw County; Attending college or university; Minimum 2.5 GPA

    AAACF Community Scholarship: Pell eligible (currently or has in the past qualified for the free or reduced lunch program), youth of color, OR first generation in your family to graduate with a 4-year degree; Resident of Washtenaw County; Will be or are a high school graduate within the last 24 months; Enrolling in college for the first time; Minimum 2.0 GPA

    Judith Dianne Jackson Scholarship - Due March 4, 2024: This scholarship is for high school seniors and offers $1,000 with the ability to renew annually for a total of $4,000 over 4 years. Please visit this website for more information. The application is downloadable here.

    Wendy's Heisman Scholarship
    100 scholarships, ranging from $500 to $5,000, along with recognition at the state and national levels.

    AES Engineer Scholarship
    This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post-secondary educational facility.
    You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.

    Priority is given on the basis of:

    BigSun Scholarship

    Student-athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. Their participation may be in any capacity, whether as a player, coach or official.

    Amount of Award - $500.00
