“‘Tuppence a bag’ has nothing to do with tuppence or breadcrumbs. It’s about the fact that it doesn’t take much to give love, that it costs very little to make a difference to other people’s lives.” — Richard Sherman, songwriter

With “Feed the Birds,” as in so many other songs and moments in the show, the writers have placed the Banks family in a world not just of magic, but also of real people, real challenges, and real history. Screenwriters molded P.L. Traver’s fantastic stories into a beautiful plot. Ultimately, the Bankses need Mary Poppins to nanny their children because they need to learn how to be a family.

The stage adaptation is not a replica of the film, but an original musical that honors some of its greatest achievements and most beloved moments. The screenwriter's goal was not to put anyone version of Mary Poppins on stage but to bring her magic to something that is both familiar and new.

There is no doubt that you’ll enjoy your magical visit with Mary Poppins, and that she will make your night a little sweeter with just a spoonful of sugar.
