Mr. David Kaiser, MEd, RAA

Mr. Kaiser became the Director of Athletics and Facility Use for Milan Area Schools in 2010. Since 2010, the Big Reds have secured some 50 Huron League, MHSAA District, Regional and State Championships; including the 2014 Boys State Basketball Championship and 2010 Girls Softball Runner-ups.

 
Striving to provide the best for our student athletes, Mr. Kaiser has overseen the completion of several facility projects in athletics including field improvements at baseball, softball, football and soccer; new refinished gym floors in the middle school and high school gyms, new LED scoreboards at softball, baseball, football/track, soccer and a new video board in the high school pool, and built the press box/storage building at soccer.
 
Mr. Kaiser also oversees MHSAA and Milan Area Schools compliance, scheduling, transportation, officials, fundraising approval, and day to day game management duties for all of the Milan athletic teams.  He also mentors some 50+ coaches at the middle school, sub-varsity and varsity levels.
 
Prior to accepting the position at Milan, Mr. Kaiser spent 24 years as an NCAA Division 1 track and field coach at schools such as Michigan, East Carolina, DePaul, Purdue, Clemson and Wake Forest.  He had coached and recruited kids from around the world including a number of kids that have gone on to represent the USA, Croatia, Finland and Canada in international competition.
 
In total, Kaiser had worked with two American Record holders, the Mexican National record holder in the shot put, 28 NCAA All Americans, 103 National Championship qualifiers, 35 Conference champions; including 3 Big Ten Championship teams and and Atlantic Coast Conference Championship team.
 
Mr. Kaiser received his Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Kansas, along with his Masters degree in Sports Management and Biomechanics.   He also has several credit hours towards a second Master's degree in Guidance and Counseling from Clemson University.
