Tonya Saragoza

I am excited about beginning my 23rd year in education!  I started my career as a 5th grade teacher in Milan, and have held various roles in the district over the years.  For the last several years, I have served as an Instructional Coach.  As a coach, my job is to create opportunities for professional collaboration and learning for the teachers at Symons, especially as we work to implement new curriculum and instructional best practices in literacy.  I am passionate about teaching in general, and literacy instruction in particular.

I love spending time with my family.  My husband and I have three sons, and are also blessed with a close extended family.  I only have one sibling (my identical twin sister), but I consider myself to be part of a big family because of my close relationships with my many aunts, uncles, and cousins. As a family, we love to travel, cheer on the Wolverines, read and play outside.  We are pretty competitive, and love nothing more than a good game, good-natured trash talk, and lots of laughs.
