Message from the Principal

  • Hello Symons Families,

I hope that you and your family are all safe and healthy! Even though our school building may be temporarily closed, our teachers and support staff are still here to support you during this unprecedented time. I know that your children’s education is very important to you and Symons teachers have created learning materials and resources to help keep your children academically engaged during this time away from school. You will find links below for each grade level. Each link contains a suggested daily schedule and activities for each subject area. There are both tech and non-tech options listed to meet the needs and learning styles of students.

While academics are certainly important, I understand that this is a challenging time for many families. These learning resources are meant to be a support to you and not a source of stress. Please know that all of these activities are optional and that you can pick and choose which ones work best for you and your children.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. The Symons community remains strong and we will get through this together! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or your child’s teacher if you have any needs. Tell your children that we love and miss them!

    Mrs. Bookout

Symons Continuity of Learning Instructional Plan

  • As a result of COVID-19 and the closing of school buildings for the 2019-2020 School Year, school districts must submit a Continuity of Learning and COVID-19 Response Plan (“Plan”) in order to continue to receive state aid for operations. Although schools are closed and not providing in-person instruction, teaching and learning must continue. Michigan educators have been called to provide our students with continued learning.

The following document has been approved by the Washtenaw Intermediate School District and has been submitted to the State of Michigan:
