Hi, my name is Jake LaCross and I am so excited about starting my 5th year of teaching at Symons Elementary. I believe Symons is a wonderful place to teach and to learn and I credit that to our outstanding staff and leadership! 

I am a Michigan native! I grew up and graduated in nearby Manchester.  I earned my degree from Eastern Michigan University in 2012 with a focus on elementary education.  This will be my 10th year of teaching.  After graduating, I spent five years teaching in inner-city schools in Phoenix, Arizona, and Denver, Colorado.  I love building strong and trusting relationships with all of my students and I look forward to continued work with the Milan community.  In my spare time, I enjoy playing sports, watching sports, snowboarding, golfing, trying new restaurants, and hanging out with my golden retriever, Griffin.  This October, my wife and I are expecting our first child, a boy!

This year will present many new challenges. I promise to work my hardest to meet the needs of you and your family.
