MDHHS Pandemic Order

11-15-20 @ 8:00 PM

Hello Milan Community,

I am sure that many of you watched the Governor and the MDHHS Director speak tonight.  Obviously we have some changes coming later this week for Milan Area Schools.

The MAS Administrative Team will be meeting tomorrow morning and I will be communicating with other Superintendents from Washtenaw County and around the region.  I will also be communicating with the Board of Education throughout the day tomorrow.

Changes for the high school and all K-12 extra curricular activities (including athletics) have been mandated by MDHHS.  High school instruction will follow the existing hybrid model (with full virtual option) this Monday and Tuesday and then will shift to a full virtual model for all high school students starting Wednesday and continuing through December 8th (as mandated by the MDHHS Director).  All extra curricular activities (including athletics) have been suspended through December 8th.  More details regarding high school instruction and extra curricular activities will be communicated to all stakeholders ASAP.

Paddock, Symons, and MMS will also follow the existing hybrid model (with full virtual option) this Monday and Tuesday.  At this time, no decision has been made about the model of instruction for MMS, Paddock, and Symons after Tuesday.  These decisions will be made tomorrow and will be communicated to all stakeholders ASAP.

Please continue to watch for updates.

Thank You,
Bryan Girbach
