State Hazard Pay Grant

This posting is required by the State of Michigan.

The State of Michigan has implemented Teacher and Support Staff Grant programs.  The district has notified each staff member that they feel qualified for these grants and has given them the form that they are required to complete in order to certify that they are eligible for these funds.  This notification occurred through emails that were sent directly to staff members.  

Below are the requirements that the district used to determine staff eligibility.

Teacher (up to $500):

  • The individual has to be a classroom teacher who worked at least 75% of their time providing standard instruction in a brick and mortar classroom during the 2019/2020 school year before the suspension of in-person instruction before April 2, 2020

(A classroom teacher is defined as a full-time or part-time teacher with an assigned class who provided continuity of learning to students during the 2019-2020 period of school closure due to COVID-19.)

Support Staff (up to $250):

  • The individual has to have been employed at a public school district with at least 75% of their workload in a brick and mortar building during the 2019/2020 school year before the suspension of in-person instruction before April 2, 2020

(Support staff is defined as paraprofessionals, food service workers, bus drivers, school counselors, social workers, school speech and language pathologists, school psychologists, literacy coaches, special education personnel, custodial staff, secretarial staff, technology staff and other non-instructional assignment codes according to the Registry of Educational Personnel.)

Staff that do not qualify for the Teacher or Support Staff Hazard Pay:

  • Administration, School Business Officials, department heads/managers/directors, pre-k and early childhood center staff, staff that do not support kindergarten to 12th grade students (Adult and Community Education)
