Announcement to incoming 7th Grade Parents

Michigan law requires that every 7th Grader and every new student entering school be immunized against specific diseases.  Parents/guardians that choose to waive these requirements, must follow these rules. The requirements state that parents seeking a non-medical waiver for school-required immunizations must go to the local health department for a discussion regarding vaccines.  Then the health department will issue a non-medical waiver.

 

The deadline for all incoming 7th grade students for the 2019-20 school year will be Monday, August 19, 2019.  By August 19, all immunizations must be up to date and any waivers that are being requested must be completed by the health department and the original Waiver brought to the Main Office.  If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Drozdowski at drozdowskij@milanareaschools.org.  Thank you.

 

Medical waiver forms can be obtained from school and must be signed by your student’s physician.  They can also be found at www.michigan.gov/immunize.
