Recognizing the Signs: Depression & Anxiety

Mental health issues can affect students in different ways. Common warning signs that a student may need support include:

  • Uncharacteristic withdrawal from friends, family, or school activities.

  • Persistent sadness, hopelessness, or frequent crying spells.

  • Significant changes in sleep habits, eating patterns, or energy levels.

  • Expressing feelings of being a burden or talking about wanting to self-harm.

School & Local Community Support

  • School Counseling Office: Students can reach out to their school counselor or trusted school staff member at any time for support, guidance, and local referrals.
