Betts' Army Wrestling Club

 

 

This club offers folk-style, free-style and Greco-Roman wrestling instruction and techniques to students in K through 12th grade. Exercise and training is designed to promote physical fitness while teaching wrestling skills and increasing personal self-esteem and confidence. Please bring clean tennis shoes or wrestling shoes and head gear if you have
them. Instruction is provided by Wrestling Coach Mike Betts, who brings over 45 years of experience to the club.

Eight classes are included in a session. 

WHEN:

  • Session 2: Oct 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 29, 30, Nov 4
  • Session 3: Nov 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, Dec 2, 4, 9
  • Session 4: Dec 11, 16, 18, 23, Jan 6, 8, 13, 15
  • Session 5: Jan 20, 22, 27, 29, Feb 3, 5, 10, 12 

TIME

  • K-9th grade from 6:00pm to 7:30pm

Pottery Class

 

 

 

Join us for a fun, hands-on workshop and make a unique, personalized ceramic dish. All bowls will be food-safe, microwave-safe, dishwasher-safe, and can be enjoyed for years! Students will be able to choose their own glaze color(s). For ages 5 and up! Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or other adult. Provided by One Acre Ceramics. There is a minimum enrollment of 10 students and a maximum of 20.

Bowls will be glazed and fired at One Acre Studio and will be returned to Milan Middle School for pickup 2-3 weeks after the session.

COST: $20/person per Saturday (accompanying adult does not pay extra unless they plan to make their own pottery piece)

Twirling Workshop

Come learn the wonderful sport of baton twirling! New and experienced twirlers are welcome. New twirlers will learn basic twirling skills and techniques, marching, bodywork, strutting skills, and a dance twirl routine. Experienced twirlers will learn new tricks as well as improve their individual routines. Learn with an expert professional staff led by head coach Susan Usher. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing, tennis shoes, and bring a baton if you have one! There are two sessions available. For ages K and up!

Instant Guitar for Hopelessly Busy People

 

Chords Are Key

 

Have you ever wanted to learn the guitar but can't find the time? In just a few hours you can learn enough about playing the guitar to give you years of musical enjoyment, and you won't have to take private lessons to do it! This crash course will teach you some basic chords and get you playing along with your favorite songs right away. And, since this course includes an online book and online follow-up video lessons, you will be able to continue your practice and study on your own. You will also be provided with a recording of the class and an optional periodic online question and answer session. The course is partly lecture/demonstration and partly hands on instruction. Class is limited to 25 students. For ages 13+

Since this class is being held online with Zoom, you will be able to sit at your piano or keyboard at home and take this course with no pressure at all. And, since this course includes an online book and online follow-up video lessons, you will be able to continue your practice and study on your own. You will also be provided with a recording of the class and an optional periodic online question and answer session. The course is partly lecture/demonstration and partly hands on instruction. Class is limited to 25 people. For ages 13+
