Information about Electronic Public Board Meetings
This page will be used to provide information about electronic public meetings if/when Board of Education meetings are scheduled to be held electronically.
To mitigate the spread of COVID-19, protect the public health, and provide essential protections to vulnerable Michiganders, it is crucial that all Michiganders take steps to limit in-person contact. These critical mitigation measures include social distancing and limiting the number of people interacting at public gatherings. To that end, Public Act 228 of 2020 suspended rules and procedures relating to physical presence at meetings and hearings of public bodies and other governmental entities in Michigan. Therefore, the Milan Area Schools Board of Education can conduct virtual Board Meetings using Zoom through December 31, 2020 (or longer, if required by Pandemic Order). An MDHHS Pandemic Order currently prohibits in-person School Board meetings through January 31, 2021.
The Board of Education of Milan Area Schools will hold a workshop meeting on January 27, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held electronically using the information below:
Electronically Held Meetings: The Board of Education will broadcast its meeting via Zoom to ensure real-time, two-way communication between the Board of Education and members of the public so that all Board members and members of the public may hear each other and so that members of the public may provide public comment. Members of the public wishing to attend the meeting electronically may do so via Zoom as follows:

You may be asked to download the Zoom app as well as enter your name and your email address before you can enter the meeting.
To join the Board Meeting by phone follow these steps:
1. Dial one of 312-626-6799
2. Enter the Meeting ID: 840 2980 2424
3. Press # (you do not need a participant ID)
4. Enter the Password: 229628
You will enter into a Zoom waiting room and the host will admit you into the meeting. You will be able to see and hear the Board of Education and District Administrators while the meeting is being conducted. However, you will not be able to speak or chat with the Board of Education. During the Public Comment agenda item, you will be un-muted by the meeting host if you have anything to share with the Board of Education.
Prior to any meeting, members of the public body can provide input or ask questions on any business that will come before the Milan Area Schools Board of Education at their meetings by emailing the Board at email@example.com.
