Milan Area Schools is a great place to be, and I am happy to spend my 14th year in administration with the Big Reds. I live between Saline and Milan with my husband, Mack, who is a Staff Judge Advocate in the Army Reserves and a compliance officer for Wells Fargo. Our daughter, Sydney, is now studying education at Michigan State University. Our son, Xavier, is a junior in Saline and plays lacrosse. We love to travel and spend time together as a family.
Professionally, I have eight years of teaching experience, 14 years of administrative experience, and have earned five degrees: two bachelor's degrees (education and communication), a master's degree (communication), a specialist and doctorate (education leadership). In addition to serving as principal of Milan Middle School, I serve as Past-President of the Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association (MEMSPA) and state representative for the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP). I have been active in leading and advocating within the organization at the state level for the past three years. I also teach graduate classes at Concordia University in Ann Arbor in Education Leadership. Everything that I do professionally involves my passions: education and leadership.
I am passionate about teaching and learning, and I strive to serve our community, students, and staff. I am grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the amazing professionals at MAS to help our students reach their fullest potential and come closer to their brightest futures.
