Tree Frogs

Our Tree Frog classroom is a nurturing one, with opportunities for

every child to make discoveries through daily learning experiences,

individually, and in small and large groups.  Preschoolers need many

opportunities incorporated into their day that support the development

of  self-help and social skills, resulting in building confidence and self-esteem.

We plan a weekly “focus,” which integrates activities that reflect the children’s interests, into our lesson plans.  Through play, these activities support development in the Creative Curriculum’s  four developmental areas (Cognitive, Social/Emotional, Language, and Motor Skills).

The children have opportunities for hands-on experimenting and interactions with classmates, which encourages them to make predictions and see outcomes, i.e. science, math, problem-solving and construction.

Through teacher and child initiated activities, teachers have the opportunity to observe and assess as children meet the objectives of the Creative Curriculum.  These outcomes are shared with parents during conferences.

Our goal for the children is a relationship-based environment with peers and teachers that enhances learning and creates friendships.
